That has a practical consequence. The higher the camera housing stands, the more it becomes the first thing that touches a table when you put the phone down, and the more leverage a knock has against it. A taller plateau is also a bigger flat target for scratches from keys, coins and sand.
Apple has now confirmed the design, so camera protection stops being an optional extra on this model and starts being the obvious first accessory.

The three layers, and what each one actually protects
This is where most people get confused, because the three products sound similar and are not. They protect different surfaces and they work together rather than replacing each other.
- Camera plateau protector: a shield over the whole raised camera housing, including the metal area around the lenses. Guards the part that hits the table first
- G-Armor lens protector: individual armoured covers over the glass circles themselves. Guards the optics you actually shoot through
- Tempered glass: full screen coverage. Guards the display, which is the most expensive single panel to replace
- A case: guards the edges, corners and back, and its raised lip is what stops a flat drop reaching the screen and camera at all

Do you need all three?
Honestly, no. Most people do not. Here is how we would actually rank them if you are spending in order.
Start with tempered glass. A cracked screen is the most common and most expensive iPhone repair, so this is the layer that pays for itself most often. Our CLEAR High Defense Tempered Glass is RM65.
Add camera protection second, and this is the year to take it seriously given the taller plateau. The Camera Plateau Protector is RM35 and covers the whole housing, while the G-Armor Lens Protector is RM65 and armours the lens glass directly. If you only want one, the plateau protector covers more surface area for less.
The case is not really a fourth option, it is the foundation. A case with a proper raised lip does more for everyday survival than any film, which is why our case type comparison is worth reading before you spend on accessories at all.
What all three together cost
Bought separately at current prices that is RM65 for the tempered glass, RM35 for the plateau protector and RM65 for the G-Armor lens protector, so RM165 in total.

For context, RM110 is a fraction of a single screen repair, and less than one mid-range case. Whether it is worth it depends entirely on how you carry your phone. If it lives in a bag with keys, it is easy maths. If it lives alone in a jacket pocket, tempered glass alone is a reasonable stopping point.

Will these fit the iPhone 18 Pro?
Yes. iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max versions are cut and in stock now, and they are among the first things iPhone 18 buyers are ordering from us. Every protector we stock is tooled for the iPhone 17 Pro and earlier. Cases are the exception: those are already cut for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max and in stock now.
This matters more for camera protection than for anything else. Case fit for the iPhone 18 Pro is more nuanced than the shared body suggests: Apple’s specs page confirms the same 150.0 x 71.9 x 8.75mm (Pro) and 163.4 x 78.0 x 8.75mm (Pro Max) dimensions as the iPhone 17 Pro, but case makers report the rear camera bump sits about 0.5mm taller, so guidance is split. OtterBox and Mous say their iPhone 17 Pro cases still work on the iPhone 18 Pro, while Rokform and Native Union call older cases incompatible or risky around the lens, so a case built specifically for the iPhone 18 Pro is the safer bet. A plateau protector cut for the iPhone 17 Pro will not sit correctly on the taller iPhone 18 housing, and a lens protector that is even slightly misaligned can show up in your photos as flare or softness.

Worth knowing on timing: Pre-orders open on Saturday 12 September at 5am Pacific, which is 8pm Malaysian time, and the phones reach stores on Friday 18 September. Malaysia is named in Apple’s first wave of more than 65 countries, so pre-orders open here on 12 September and stock lands in stores on Friday 18 September. Protection is easiest to fit on day one, before the first scratch.
Fitting them without trapping dust
Most bad screen protector results are installation, not product. Two minutes of preparation makes the difference between an invisible layer and a bubble you stare at for a year.
The single biggest factor is airborne dust. A bathroom shortly after a hot shower is the classic trick, because the steam pulls dust out of the air. Beyond that, it is patience: clean, align, then let it settle rather than pressing at it.
- Wipe with the alcohol pad first, then the dry cloth, then lift any last specks with the sticker tab
- Line up the cutouts before any part of the adhesive touches the screen
- Lower it from one edge rather than dropping it flat, so air pushes out ahead of it
- Leave small bubbles alone for a day, most disappear as the adhesive settles
- For lens protectors, check alignment in the camera app before pressing down, since a slight offset shows up in photos

What is a camera plateau protector?
It covers the entire raised camera housing on the back of the phone, not just the lens circles. On recent iPhones the camera area stands proud of the body, so it is the part that touches the table first and takes the most scratches. Leaks describe a 48MP Fusion main camera with a variable aperture that moves between f/1.48 and f/4 on six laser-cut blades, on both the Pro and the Pro Max rather than the Pro Max alone, which makes that housing an even bigger target on the iPhone 18 Pro.
Do I need both a plateau protector and a lens protector?
Not necessarily. They cover different areas: the plateau protector shields the whole raised housing, the G-Armor lens protector sits directly over the glass you shoot through. If you are buying one, the plateau protector covers more surface for less money. If you shoot a lot and want the optics themselves armoured, add G-Armor as well.
Does a lens protector affect photo quality?
A well made one that is correctly aligned should not noticeably change your photos. A misaligned one can, usually showing up as flare in bright light or a soft edge. That is why we suggest checking alignment in the camera app before you press it down. If you see flare afterwards, lift and reseat it rather than living with it.

Is tempered glass or a case more important?
The case, if you can only pick one. A case with a properly raised lip keeps the screen and camera off the ground in a flat drop, which prevents the damage rather than absorbing it.
